A few rays of hope and an apology

First I'd like to point out my error and apologize for that error. I usually don't believe in apologies but this time it is warranted.

I apologize to US Rep Pete Hoekstra, R-Michigan for posting and awarding him the dhimmi of the day award. Apparently this congressman is far from being a dhimmi and as I have done more research on him, it becomes apparent that he get's it about Islamofascism. Mr. Hoesktra is the Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Here is a quote from the Congressman as regards the latest FY09 Intelligence Authorization Bill:

“Trying to impose speech codes on how to describe our enemy smacks of McCarthyism in reverse,” Hoekstra said. “Al-Qaeda knows point blank that they want to kill Americans. How sad is it that as we approach the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we are still debating how to define our enemy?”

In trying to find more information about this bill, I hit a roadblock, finding that via "insidedefense" is a paid subscription site, and I simply don't have the money to join. If YOU know more about the bill please post something here in comments.

As I understand it, among other things the bill prohibits the intelligence community and other government agencies from using the words "jihad" and "Islamofascism".

My interest is really peaked now. Just who authored this bill and what are their connections? Why do we care about insulting our enemies? We should be insulting the Jihadists and more in the opinion of the majority of Americans who understand what is going on!
